Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef Mince
  • 1 small Red Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely grated
  • 1 slice Bread toasted and soaked in water
  • tsp Ras El Hanout
  • ½ tsp Ground Ginger
  • ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper more if you like it hot and spicy
  • 1 tbsp Coriander finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Squeeze the water out of the bread and place in a large mixing bowl. Add the meat, onion and all of the other ingredients with the exception of the oil and mix well. Season with salt and pepper and mix again
  • Using wet hands, divide the mixture into small meatballs. They should be slightly larger than a marble but not as big as a golf ball. Put the meatballs on a tray and put in the fridge for 30 minutes
  • Heat a large frying pan over a medium heat. Drizzle the meatballs with the olive oil and fry in the frying pan for about 10 minutes, turning regularly to ensure they are cooked through and slightly charred
  • Serve in pitta bread pockets with cherry tomatoes and pickled red onion. Enjoy!
