Asian Sticky Ribs
We can’t claim credit for this recipe, we got it from Waitrose! These ribs are amazing though and really fragrant and sticky. They are simple to cook and easy to prepare. We usually serve them with a simple salad that we can eat with our fingers because there is no way of eating them other than with your fingers which will become very sticky!

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg Pork Spare Ribs
- 200 ml Orange Juice
- 80 ml Dark Soy Sauce
- 4 tbsp Honey
- 5 cm Root Ginger peeled and sliced
- 3 pieces Star Anise
- 4 cloves Garlic
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 170℃, gas mark 3. Put the spare ribs in a roasting tray.
- Mix the orange juice, soy sauce and honey together, then stir in the ginger, star anise and garlic. Pour the mixture over the ribs and cover with foil. Put the roasting tray in the pre-heated oven and cook for 2 hours
- After 2 hours remove the foil and increase the heat to 220℃, gas mark 7. Cook the ribs, turning and basting regularly, until they are golden and bubbling. This will take anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour but you will know when the sticky glaze is just to your liking!
- The original recipe suggested serving with steamed greens and rice but we found we were far too messy from eating the ribs, so we serve with a simple salad that can also be eaten with your fingers!
