Best BBQ Marinade

How do you photograph a marinade and make it look good? We certainly struggled with that. As the BBQ season is upon us though, we started to experiment with marinades. They do, of course, work just as well if you are cooking inside but, in our case, it was for the BBQ that we wanted a good marinade. This is what we came up with. You can use it with chicken as we did here, or pork if you prefer. We haven’t tried it with fish but suspect it would work well with fish too. The quantity here is for two people but it will scale up or down as you wish.

Servings: 2 people

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil we rarely use it for cooking but here it really does add flavour
  • 1 Lemon juiced
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 10 ml Balsamic Vinegar that's a dessert spoon but people struggle with the abbreviation for a dessert spoon
  • ½ tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • ½ tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 pinch Freshly Ground Pepper

Instructions

  • Put all of the incredients for the marinade in a jug and mix well
  • Pierce the meat with a fork all over to help the marinade to soak in and then put the marinade and the meat into a sealable freezer bag and marinate for at least 30 minutes but as long as you can. When you're ready, take the meat out of the bag and onto the barbecue. Cook until done and enjoy!
