Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings

This is such a simple recipe but flavoursome, inexpensive, and delicious. We usually serve these wings with salad but boiled rice or even chips would work well too. This is such an inexpensive dish and very nutritious.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken Wings
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 fresh Red Chilli deseeded and chopped
  • 1 Lime zest and juice
  • tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

Instructions

  • Put the chilli powder, ground ginger, fresh chilli, lime zest and juice into a bowl and mix.
  • Add the chicken wings and mix together. Leave to marinate in the fridge for a couple of hours or even overnight (if you're in a rush leave them to marinate at room temperature for ½ hour or more)
  • When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 220°C, gas mark 7, and put the chicken wings into a baking tray with a little oil. Cook until just cooked (about 20 minutes)
  • Take the chicken wings straight from the oven to the wok to stop the juices running out and making the chicken dry.
  • Heat a wok and add the chicken wings, soy sauce and honey. Stir fry until stick and almost black in colour.
